Getting Started -
In illustrator, you can always edit different images at any time. You can even scale images at any size without it becoming blurry and fuzzy. In illustrator, you can import and export different files from many different formats. This allows you to re purpose graphics for any of your needs. You can also create cross media designs, it even has different tools used to create artwork in illustrator.
Creating files for print-
First you should establish an intent for your artwork, you can then use that to figure out key settings. You can name your document , you should change it to print if you are going to print the image afterwards. You can change the size of the page(artwork) size.Change your settings according to what you are creating, for example a business card is 3 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches tall. You can set your page size to be 2 1.2 inches for width and when you press tab, it automatically changes the height accordingly. You should change the raster effects to a higher resolution to get the best quality. on a day to day basis, you can hide the advanced settings and work with the basic settings. click ok and the new document will open.

Review for brochures.

Brian Perez-
The brochure's customer review was a little hard to read. The red on light pink and that font could have been a bit different . I really liked the picture collage that he created on 3 of the brochure pages. It was very creative and he used his pictures very well. i also liked how he labeled the breakfast lunch and dinner pictures, it shows some examples and would attract the customer.

Demarco Sanchez-
The brochure Demarco designed had a lot of empty space and on the cover page, he could have added a bit more, for example a image related to the brochure. The page that was supposed to engage the reader into joining was a bit lacking, the font should have been more engaging and a different font size would be suggested. Same font and size could have been used/ less stretched out images. i liked how the logo was cut out and instead of it being black on white, it was more creative. The schedule is very organized and it can be easily read by someone wanting to know the times for classes.

Portfolio reflection blog :]

1. What was the purpose of your portfolio? Who is it targeted for, and who else do you think you can use it for?
The purpose of my portfolio was to show my skills in indesign and photoshop. I then used my portfolio to show my skills in creating it in adobe Pdf. I wanted to make this portfolio to show my future colleges and to show them that i had done something extra. I want to also use it to find jobs to show them my skills in photoshop. In the future i may want to get into this type of work.
2. How did you create it?
I created it in adobe acrobat pro and i first set up my folders leading to other folders in which the categories fit. I then used color schemes to use green because it is most pleasing to the eye. i chose to make my header so that people can contact me in the future.
3. How did you streamline the file size?
i first created each files in photoshop and indesign and using another copy of it, i saved them all as pdf files and Gif images to shrink down the image sizes.
4. Would you say that your portfolio is an accurate example of your work so far? Explain your answer.
My portfolio shows my improvement in my work. it is in chronological order and it shows how in my first projects and labs i was learning photoshop and indesign when towards the end, i was able to show my skills by building everything from scratch.
